➡ One of the best parts about the past 18 months has been working with the talented music students of the Renaissance School of the Arts in East Harlem.
➡ Spectrum News NY1 joined MET Orchestra Principal Trombone John Romero, Hornist Barbara Jostlein Currie, Clarinetist Dean LeBlanc and NYC Department of Education Chancellor Principal Emeritus Meisha Porter, as they rehearsed with the students and their inspiring band director, Roberto Gandara. We look forward to helping develop a new Strings program this year and hope to bring the students to watch a rehearsal and join us The Metropolitan Opera this year! 👏

During this one-hour live event, Lessonface violin instructor Miguel Ramirez will interview Wen Qian, Acting Assistant Concertmaster of the Metropolitan Opera Orchestra in New York City.

Tune in for this friendly and informal conversation between these two high-level professional performer-educators.

This past year, LessonFace sponsored 20 masterclasses given by 50 MET Orchestra Musicians which were made free to the public. The MET Musicians coached 53 students from 19 states, Puerto Rico, Canada and 10 other countries in Europe and Asia.

From last night’s concert at the @metopera House.

It was surreal to perform for our wonderful audience again, and to pay tribute to those who lost their lives on September 11th, 2001.

💕 To say we are grateful to be together tonight

💕 To say we are grateful to be together tonight performing #Verdi #Requiem is an understatement.

We are looking forward to this evening because it is our first performance at the @metopera House since March 2020, and rehearsing with Maestro Yannick @nezetseguin has been amazing.

It’s been incredible hearing our beautiful soloists, two of whom were hosts on our Spotlight Series concerts.

@polenzanitenor and @ericowensopera hosted, and we are floored by @ailynperezsoprano and @michelle_deyoung as well!
