Karen Marx, Assistant Principal Second Violin

Karen Marx, Assistant Principal 2nd violin, has been a member of the orchestra since 1991. She was a member of the New Jersey Symphony Orchestra for four years, and received her Bachelor of Music from the Eastman School and a Master of Music from the Juilliard School. Her teachers included Szymon Goldberg, Sylvia Rosenberg, Dorothy DeLay and Hyo Kang. She was a member of the Santa Fe Opera Orchestra for two summers, and has performed at the chamber music festivals of Yale at Norfolk, Prussia Cove , Santa Fe, and Windham. Karen shares her home in Leonia, NJ with Duncan Patton, her 2 sons, and their simpatico dog, Scout.
